Mentioned in records as far back as 1209 Haworth has a long history, but, of course, it is well known as the home to the Reverend P Brontë and his famous daughters Charlotte, Emily and Anne. That such literary ability should be found in one family member would be noteworthy, but to find such gifts in three young sisters must surely be unique. Their father, Patrick, and their brother Branwell, also had works printed. When you look at the countryside around the village it is easy to see how they were inspired. The Brontë Parsonage Museum, behind the church, will tell you more about their story and give you a glimpse of the world they knew around them.
Today Haworth is a bustling tourist village with over 8 million visitors a year. They come for the scenery, for the quaint tea rooms, the antiquarian bookshops, good pubs and excellent restaurants. They also come for the steam trains travelling along the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, which featured in the classic movie, "The Railway Children."
In addition to the Brontë Parsonage Museum, vintage and gift shops, tea rooms, restaurants and railway you can also take advantage of Central Park, across the road at the front of the property. A well cared for park it provides beautiful lawns and flowerbeds and an excellent play park for children. It is ideal for a picnic, and just a skip away from the front door.

"The cottage was very clean, well maintained and the overall facilities were very good. The location was not too far from all the attractions of Haworth. The area had so much to offer, well worth a visit."
"We returned to this cottage, having spent a week there last year and had a wonderful time. Our holiday coincided with the centenary of the Flying Scotsman and we were able to board the steam engine. "
